Edo Polls Results: PDP Releases Collation from IRev, Clear Difference from INEC Results

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has released its independent collation of results from the just-concluded governorship election, which it claims shows a clear victory for its candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

The party on Sunday posted the now viral results on social media platforms, citing data from the Independent Review (IRev) platform.

According to the PDP’s collation, its votes were significantly reduced in its traditional strongholds, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) votes were substantially increased to favour the Okpebholo.

As of the time of filing this report, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to officially announced the complete results of the election.

Based on the collation so far, Okpebholo has over 48,000 more votes ahead of his closest rival Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Arbiterz had earlier reported that electoral observers have expressed concerns about potential manipulation.

In a related development, a PDP member of House of Assembly, Hon. Natasha Osawaru has accused the APC of rigging election results, despite Edo State being a PDP state.

In a video footage obtained by this reporter, Natasha said APC supporters in collaboration with security officers resorted to intimidation of electorates in the state.

“Egor was in chaos today. Security personnel that was supposed to observe the process started helping people to carry ballot boxes,” she said.

“The good thing is that videos will be uploaded on social media. I am young. And we are very good with social media. The oppression was too much. We are a PDP state yet we allowed APC vote freely. They are now the ones oppressing us,” she added.
