As of October 17, 2025, the Nigerian Naira’s exchange rates against major currencies showed mixed movements across different market segments, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Lemfi, and Remitly.
In the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), the naira depreciated 0.10% to close at N1,474/$ on October 16, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In the International Money Transfer Operators (IMTO), data sourced from platforms like Lemfi and Remitly, revealed the naira weakened slightly against the dollar by 0.34% to N1,491/$ on October 17, from N1,486/$ on October 16.
The naira strengthened against the Great British Pound at N2,000 per GBP with a 0.20% gain, while the naira depreciated against the Euro by 0.46% to N1,741 from N1,733.
The naira held steady against the CAD at N1,063 with no change.
Meanwhile, foreign reserves stood at $42.670 billion as of October 15, a slight increase from $42.650 billion on October 14, maintaining overall stability.
