Nollywood actress Chika Ike has publicly addressed and dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding the paternity of her unborn child. In a statement posted on her Instagram, Ike emphasized the necessity to clarify the situation, particularly because it concerned her child.

Chika Ike firmly denied that Senator Ned Nwoko is the father of her child, describing the speculation as a “guessing game.” She expressed her disinterest in becoming Nwoko’s seventh wife, stating, “I’m not about to be anyone’s seventh wife! Polygamy isn’t for me.” Ike highlighted, noting that her pregnancy had gone unnoticed until she chose to announce it, and criticized the public’s assumption of knowing details about her personal life.

Privacy and Public Speculation

She further remarked on her general approach to rumors about her life, saying, “There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are rumours that needed no response.” However, she felt compelled to speak out this time due to the personal nature of the allegations. She urged detractors to continue their speculation, noting that she was “basking in the euphoria of her pregnancy,” which is what matters to her.

Ned Nwoko’s Response to the Allegations

Meanwhile, Senator Ned Nwoko has also addressed these rumors. On Monday, a statement was released by his Director of Communications on Nwoko’s Instagram, accompanied by photos of Nwoko with his wife, Regina Daniels. The statement refuted the claims about Nwoko planning to marry Ike as his seventh wife and about her being pregnant with his child. The statement labeled these rumors as “entirely baseless” and the result of “malicious speculation,” urging the public to disregard them.

These rumors gained traction amidst the silence of Regina Daniels, who reportedly deactivated her Instagram account, leading to increased public speculation. However, the statement from Nwoko’s team and Chika Ike’s clarification sought to quash these unfounded narratives, providing clarity on the matter and reaffirming the privacy of the individuals involved.
