SoCha LLC is recruiting a Chief of Party (COP) to lead its Monitoring, Reporting, and Capacity Strengthening (MRCS) programme across the Sahel region, with a primary focus on Niger and Burkina Faso.
This senior leadership role will oversee programme implementation supporting U.S. Department of State Foreign Assistance objectives in West Africa, with responsibility for strategy, team leadership, contract compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Client Engagement
Serve as overall programme lead, acting as the primary point of contact with the U.S. Department of State, Home Office, and key stakeholders.
Represent SoCha’s interests in all high-level engagements and ensure strong two-way communication with clients and partners.
Strategy & Programme Direction
Define and maintain the programme’s strategic vision in line with U.S. Foreign Assistance goals.
Identify opportunities to enhance programme effectiveness, learning, and impact.
Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) Oversight
Provide close oversight of Third-Party Monitoring services, with emphasis on quality control, compliance, and delivery standards.
Ensure monitoring methodologies are fit-for-purpose in complex and high-risk environments.
Team & Operations Management
Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse, multi-country team.
Define scopes of work, oversee staff welfare, and coordinate closely with Home Office HR.
Contract & Financial Management
Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, including finance, procurement, inventory, and logistics.
Maintain strong internal controls and accountability systems.
Quality Assurance & Reporting
Ensure all work orders and deliverables meet high quality standards and are completed on schedule.
Conduct final reviews of reports submitted to clients.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Master’s degree in international development, economics, statistics, or a closely related field.
Experience: Minimum 10 years’ demonstrated project management experience in developing countries (West Africa experience strongly preferred).
Proven record of managing complex donor-funded programmes.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in evaluation methodologies, statistical analysis, experimental design, and complexity-aware monitoring.
Management & Stakeholder Skills
Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams across cultures.
Strong experience working with donors, government officials, and implementing partners.
Language Requirements: Fluent written and spoken English and French (mandatory).
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be able to live and work in Burkina Faso and Niger without significant visa restrictions.
Willingness to travel frequently within challenging operating environments.
