Champion Breweries Plc has reported a standout performance for Q2 2025, posting a pre‑tax profit of N1.7 billion, up 268.95% from N465.4 million a year earlier. This achievement propelled half‑year pre‑tax profit to N3.4 billion, a sharp turnaround from the N333 million loss recorded in H1 2024.

The brewery’s beer and malt segment drove earnings, with sales climbing to N7.4 billion in the quarter, representing a 44.18% increase year‑on‑year. Overall revenue rose to N15.9 billion in the first half, marking a 66.92% jump as consumer demand in Nigeria’s brewing industry strengthened.

Cost of sales in Q2 reached N3.5 billion, up from N2.9 billion in Q2 2024, reflecting higher production volumes and raw‑material spending. Despite rising costs, gross profit expanded by 72.90% to N3.8 billion, underscoring improved operational efficiencies.

Selling and distribution expenses climbed by 35.31% to N1.4 billion, while administrative costs inched up 2.8% to N573.6 million. Even with these incremental costs, operating profit more than doubled to N1.8 billion, compared to N639.5 million in the prior-year quarter.

With no foreign exchange losses reported, net profit after tax reached N1.3 billion, a year‑on‑year rise of 198.17%. Strong forex management and cost controls underpinned this sustained bottom‑line growth.

As of June 30, 2025, total assets stood at N25.9 billion, a 21.57% increase, while retained earnings climbed 45.13% to N5.6 billion.
