The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially announced plans to commence nationwide recruitment into the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday 26th June.
In a public statement, the Board called on suitably qualified Nigerians to apply for existing vacancies across various ranks. namely: the Superintendent Cadre (General Duty), Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre.
Superintendent Cadre (Category A)
This category is aimed at highly qualified professionals.
Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 02): Open exclusively within Nigerian Correctional Service for medical doctors. Applicants must hold an MBBS degree from a recognised institution.
Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09): Available in the Federal Fire Service. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Water, or related disciplines) or Law (LL.B, LLM).
Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08): Open across the four agencies. Applicants must possess a recognised Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND).
Inspectorate Cadre (Category B)
This is targeted at mid-level professionals, mainly within health services.
Inspector (CONHESS 06): Open in the Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and NSCDC. Candidates must be Registered Nurses, Midwives, or hold combined RN/RM certification.
Assistant Inspector (CONPASS 06): Requires either a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or National Diploma (ND) from an accredited institution.
Assistant Cadre (Category C)
Designed for candidates with secondary education or technical trade qualifications.
Assistant II (CONPASS 04, General Duty): Minimum of five O’Level credits (including English and Mathematics) in no more than two sittings.
Assistant III (CONPASS 03, General Duty/Drivers/Artisans): Minimum of four O’Level credits or a Trade Test Grade III certificate (e.g. Motor Mechanics, Auto Electricians).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be Nigerian by birth.
Meet the educational and professional requirements for the position applied for.
Be aged between 18 and 35 years.
Meet physical requirements: minimum height of 1.65m for men and 1.60m for women; male chest measurement of at least 0.87m.
Be medically fit with certification from a government hospital.
Have no criminal convictions or history of financial embarrassment.
Possess good character; computer literacy will be an added advantage.

The application process is entirely online via https://recruitment.cdcfib.org from Thursday, 26th June 2025, and will remain active for three weeks.
Note: candidates may apply for only one agency; multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification. The Board further reiterated that the entire recruitment process is free of charge and warned applicants to be wary of fraudsters demanding payment at any stage.
