Business File: Lafarge Africa Unveils Watershield Cement

Lafarge Africa Plc., a leading innovative and sustainable building solutions company, has launched a revolutionary and first-of-its-kind water-resistant cement in Nigeria called “Watershield’. Developed with a unique formula, Lafarge Africa Watershield Cement represents a groundbreaking achievement in construction materials, offering unmatched durability and superior water resistance. The product will solve many “water wahala” for home builders and owners, such as ugly damp peeling off paint and discolouring walls and ceilings.
Lafarge Africa Plc, which was incorporated in Nigeria on 24th February 1959, is part of the Holcim Group, the largest cement manufacturer in the world, giving it access to world-beating technology and innovation. In 1887, Lafarge opened the world’s first research laboratory to specialise exclusively on cement. Holcim Group’s Research and Development activities are today mainly carried out at laboratories in the United States of America and France. The Holcim Group holds a total of 3813 patents.
