Lafarge Africa Plc has notified Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public of its plan to expand operations at its Ashakacem Plant in Gombe State and Sagamu Plant in Ogun State as part of its long-term growth strategy.
The company said that upon completion of the expansion projects, the Ashakacem Plant will reach a total production capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum (2MT), while the Sagamu Plant’s capacity will increase to 3.5 million tonnes per annum (3.5MT). Lafarge Africa stated that the investments are aimed at supporting Nigeria’s infrastructural development, improving product availability across key markets, and strengthening operational efficiency.
According to the company, the planned capacity expansion aligns with its commitment to delivering sustainable value to shareholders while positioning the business to meet rising demand for cement driven by public and private sector construction activities across the country.
