The visitors shocked the crowd inside the first minute when Ibanez pounced on a defensive lapse to put Alavés ahead.
The early goal momentarily unsettled Barcelona, but the hosts quickly regained control of the game.
Lamine Yamal levelled the score in the 8th minute after combining neatly with Robert Lewandowski. The equalizer energized Barça, who continued to push forward with confidence. Midfielder Dani Olmo completed the turnaround in the 26th minute, finishing off a well-worked move initiated by Raphinha.
Alavés struggled to regain their footing, picking up a pair of first-half bookings for Rebbach and Bernal as Barcelona tightened their grip on the match.
The second half saw Barcelona introduce fresh legs immediately, with Marcus Rashford and Jules Koundé coming on at the break.
Both teams made several substitutions as the match progressed, but it was Barcelona who continued to create the better chances.
Alavés midfielder Calebe received a yellow card shortly before being substituted, while the visitors’ late attempts to push forward were repeatedly contained.
Barcelona sealed the win in stoppage time when Olmo struck again, this time assisted by Lamine Yamal, capping off a standout performance from the young winger.
The victory reinforces Barça’s pursuit of the league leaders, while Alavés leave Camp Nou empty-handed despite their bright start.
