After seeing and listening to all the fantastic reviews online about the great movie “Angel has Fallen”, I just couldn’t wait one extra day to run to the cinema to see the movie. I must explain to you that I went in with loads of expectation, considering all I had read and watched, and I came out slightly disappointed wondering, what has happened?
Now, please do not get me wrong. I totally enjoyed this action-packed movie, and I will be recommending it. But my expectations were not surpassed at all. I guess it’s because I went in expecting a literal heaven or angel to fall, only to find out that my real guys didn’t actually die but made it to the very end. I would advise that you keep your expectations as minimal as possible so you could have them surpassed by the end of the movie. I was wondering why his father who got missing for so many years had to all of a sudden be introduced. Well, I guess it happens. The action scenes were impeccable and if you remember the old saying “The actor never dies, if he does that is the end of the series”, that’s typically what played out here.
If you have being following the previous instalments in this franchise, “Olympus Has Fallen” in 2013 and “London Has Fallen” in 2016, you will get a better hang of the direction of this new one. The movie is a typical, suspense-filled action movie with 2 hours of screaming, shouting and shooting – the kinds of movies that keep you at the edge of your seat from start to finish. They put on a very good show here. I loved the action scenes as they looked real and cinematography too. The production was top notch as always and the chosen cast totally killed each role, leading you on and keeping you confused till the tail end. Wondering who the real bad guy was, kept me interested till the end. The twist and suspense will leave you hanging all through and at the end, you will find out that the good pretentious guy was the bad guy and the hardened-face bad guy was actually good. That “oh wow” feeling was real at the end.
The movie started with the first scene where we had Gerard Butler who was referred to as “Mike Banning” in the movie rehearsing in a military camp training; little did he know that the training was preparing him for the future. If you remember him from past movies, you will know that he is the most trusted aid to the President, Allan Trumbull. He served him faithfully, was willing to give up his life, that Allan knew clearly; but there were some snitches who let out some secrets and then framed him for attempted murder on the president. He ran to seek a way to escape and discover the once-hidden truth. He became FBI’s most sought-after man, but that didn’t stop him. He needed to probe deep into the matter alone, unravel the truth and save the President who he knew was the main target. To do this he had to seek help from lost friends and family members who he could trust. Did he succeed in saving the president? You will have to watch this to tell.

To my verdict I would score this movie 8/10. Well, it was a good movie after all. I guess I went in with too many expectations hence, my desires weren’t surpassed. As always I am very particular about having a nice story, with a nice crew and production, keep it simple and not overly complicated and I will be happy. For all the action movie lovers out there this would definitely be for you, so go in and enjoy the movie and please don’t ask me how his dad got into the picture, because I also can’t explain.
